Long needed update...

So I know you all have probably been wondering if I was ever going to post anything on here again.
Well here I am, better late than never!!  lol

I guess I'll start with how my summer has been since its almost done.

  • I've been really busy this summer working.  This past Friday was my last day so now I'm trying to organize my life again before I start school next week!
  • At the beginning of the year I posted about how I wanted to read 100 books this year.  If you look at my sidebar you can see that I've only read 6!!!  I hope I'll be able to find time to read in the coming weeks even with school starting.
  • I have some yarn to make dish cloths for my gramma.  I'll post pictures of them when I'm done. ☺
  • In July I was able to participate in the Steubenville East conference which was an awesome experience.  To be able to go somewhere there were over a thousand catholic teens excited about their faith was so cool!!
  • A great catholic website for teens is lifeteen.com  You should go and visit it sometime.  While I was on the conference this summer I bought one of lifeteens awesome bibles.
  • I'm excited that choir at my church has started up again for the year and on Saturday youth group/ band practice starts up also.  I can't wait.  :)
The rest of this week is going to go by super fast for me!!  I hope all of my readers had a great summer and are excited about school starting.  If any of you have ideas of what I should blog about just leave a comment.  Thanks

I had an idea to challange myself to read 100 books in 2010.
So far I've read one book The Five People You Meet in Heaven.
I'm going to make a sidebar for my progress.
I recently started reading some of Regina Doman.
I've read  The Shadow of the Bear. I can't wait to start The Midnight Dancers.

Completed blanket

I finally finished the blanket I've been working on since June.  This is the fastest it's taken me to crochet a blanket! I made this for my Pepere, he doesn't know its for him but I have a feeling he hopes it is. Everytime he's seen it he has asked who's its for.  I was going to save it till christmas but I'm going to give it to him tomorrow.
I'm trying to think of new projects to work on.  I want to make a little pouch to store all of my crochet hooks
because I can't seem to keep them all together!  I'd post a picture but I need to take it apart and use a bigger size crochet hook.  I got this crochet book from the library.  I didn't know there were that many crochet stitches!!!

I was going to write more but I have to start school.☺

Oh and if your wondering about the labels I put under the header I'm worknig on something different and they aren't completed.

A Young Maiden's Daybook- November 2, 2009

Today… Monday, November 2, 2009

Outside my window… The sun is coming out and I hope that means it won't be bitter cold out today.

I am thinking… That the pictures I printed are ever better than I thought they were when I took then!
My sister and me share a room together and since we now have a trundle bed I don't think we'll be moving out room around anymore.  There just isn't enough room!

I am thankful for… My family.

I am wearing… Jeans, a cranberry colored t-shirt and a white vest.

I am reading… Organizing your day, Cooking Italian with kids (I found it at our library and all the recipes seem easy, Crocheting in Plain English, Afghans & Throws, Seams to Me.
Don't think I'm reading all of these books cover to cover!  I'm looking for more projects!!
I almost forgot to mention that I was trying to read, How to Pray Well By. Raoul Plus, S.J
I got it from the Catholic Company. I said trying because its a little over my head at the moment maybe in a few years I'll be able to understand it.
I am creating… A blanket for my Pepere.  I have two more skeins of yarn and if I work on it when I watch TV, I might be done in a couple weeks if not earlier.

One of my favorite things… Yarn!  I have a whole box full.

For education this week… The curriculum my siblings and me use is Seton Home School.  The nice thing about it is Catholic and the curriculum tells you what week your on and exactlly what to do!

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning… Cleaning.  One of my chores my mom likes me to do is vacuuming.

A godly character trait I plan to work on… Patience, I think everyone could use some.

For the rest of the week… I'll be working on finishing my first quarter of school. And hopefully posting again very soon.

A picture I’d like to share…

These are some lilacs from this summer.
I think they are so pretty.
