Completed blanket

I finally finished the blanket I've been working on since June.  This is the fastest it's taken me to crochet a blanket! I made this for my Pepere, he doesn't know its for him but I have a feeling he hopes it is. Everytime he's seen it he has asked who's its for.  I was going to save it till christmas but I'm going to give it to him tomorrow.
I'm trying to think of new projects to work on.  I want to make a little pouch to store all of my crochet hooks
because I can't seem to keep them all together!  I'd post a picture but I need to take it apart and use a bigger size crochet hook.  I got this crochet book from the library.  I didn't know there were that many crochet stitches!!!

I was going to write more but I have to start school.☺

Oh and if your wondering about the labels I put under the header I'm worknig on something different and they aren't completed.

A Young Maiden's Daybook- November 2, 2009

Today… Monday, November 2, 2009

Outside my window… The sun is coming out and I hope that means it won't be bitter cold out today.

I am thinking… That the pictures I printed are ever better than I thought they were when I took then!
My sister and me share a room together and since we now have a trundle bed I don't think we'll be moving out room around anymore.  There just isn't enough room!

I am thankful for… My family.

I am wearing… Jeans, a cranberry colored t-shirt and a white vest.

I am reading… Organizing your day, Cooking Italian with kids (I found it at our library and all the recipes seem easy, Crocheting in Plain English, Afghans & Throws, Seams to Me.
Don't think I'm reading all of these books cover to cover!  I'm looking for more projects!!
I almost forgot to mention that I was trying to read, How to Pray Well By. Raoul Plus, S.J
I got it from the Catholic Company. I said trying because its a little over my head at the moment maybe in a few years I'll be able to understand it.
I am creating… A blanket for my Pepere.  I have two more skeins of yarn and if I work on it when I watch TV, I might be done in a couple weeks if not earlier.

One of my favorite things… Yarn!  I have a whole box full.

For education this week… The curriculum my siblings and me use is Seton Home School.  The nice thing about it is Catholic and the curriculum tells you what week your on and exactlly what to do!

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning… Cleaning.  One of my chores my mom likes me to do is vacuuming.

A godly character trait I plan to work on… Patience, I think everyone could use some.

For the rest of the week… I'll be working on finishing my first quarter of school. And hopefully posting again very soon.

A picture I’d like to share…

These are some lilacs from this summer.
I think they are so pretty.

Fabric and yarn projects!!!

Okay so I took some pictures of my fabric and a few of some crocheting projects that I'm working on right now. I have all sorts of plans to make bags and stuff ! But to start any of them I really need to get some interfacing I just have to be patient! The time will come!

This stack is just scraps that I've collected from projects and yard sales I'm not sure what to do with them but there are so big pieces.

This is the stack of fabric that I'm planning to make bags with.

This is one of my favorite fabrics! I zoomed in so you can see the detail.
I love this print!! Purple with a creative design.

This is another favorite!

This is an over view of all of my favorite fabric I love it so much I don't know what to make!

Some knew yarn that I got at our local yarn shop.

The finished project of two scarves the red one is hard to see.

This is the start of a blanket that I'm making for my Pepere but I ended up taking apart because it was curling (I'm always tight in the beginning!!)

This is all of the yarn that I have for my blanket project! I don't think you can see but there are two shades of blue. I got all of this yarn at Michael's. And I'm using a size I crochet hook.

Summer!

I can't wait for warmer weather!

I don't have any plans for the summer like traveling or anything. Just the plain old thing babysitting, reading, swimming and just whatever.

Do you have plans for the summer? Are you going anywhere? Please post a comment!

I'm planning on starting another blanket for my Pepere but I need to get more yarn. Its not that I don't have yarn but I don't have any right for a blanket. I really want to use all of my yarn so that I can get some more (just what I need!). Right now I'm crocheting a dark green scarf I don't know who its for. I don't always have someone in mind when I start something.

I'm also thinking of some sewing projects. I have tons of fabric but no interfacing! I have some bag patterns and I got a sewing book last Christmas. I'll see if I can post some pictures of my fabric later its in a box that really heavy!
I like this, this, I really would like to make this. Heres the whole website!

Do you like to sew? What have you made?

I'm finished!

This is a blanket that I made for my sister. I'm glad I'm done but now I don't know what to do!

Right now I'm reading Our Lady of Fatima By. William Thomas Walsh that my friend gave to me. Its a very good book.
But as far as any new projects I don't know what to do!!! I was planning on trying to knit a scarf
but I don't want to start and then disappointed if it doesn't work! Does anyone have any ideas?
Feel free to comment. Thanks

I'm still here!

I can't believe I haven't posted for (I don't know how long!)

I hope you all had a lovely Easter! Me and me family did.

I recently read The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
I'm glad that I read it but it was very sad.

This work was set in Berlin, 1942. When Bruno returns home from school one day, he discovers that his belongings are being packed in crates. His father has received a promotion and the family must move from their home to a new house far far away, where there is no one to play with and nothing to do. A tall fence running alongside stretches as far as the eye can see and cuts him off from the strange people he can see in the distance. But, Bruno longs to be an explorer and decides that there must be more to this desolate new place than what meets the eye. While exploring his new environment, he meets another boy whose life and circumstances are very different to his own, and their meeting results in a friendship that has devastating consequences. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is now a major motion picture (releasing in November 2008).

Well I have to think of some other things to write about!!! I'm working on a book list.

Lent is just around the corner....

I had planned to write about Lent last week but never got around to it.

So now here I am with Lent not even 2 days away now and I'm still not exactly sure what I will give or do for Lent.
I'm not going to give up any kind of food (like ice cream like I use to in 3rd grade)
Maybe I'll read a Bible verse or say a rosary a day or both.
I know one thing I will be doing though is spiritually adopt a baby.
What will you be doing? Don't be afraid to leave a comment!

Book Review: The Wind Blows Free,The Wide Horizon,The Good Land

Well I finished these three books a few weeks ago but I thought I would still share a little about them. To start off the authors name is Loula Grace Erdman.

The first book in the series is The Wind Blows Free

The Pierce family have just moved from East Texas to the Texas Panhandle and the oldest Melinda is having the hardest time adapting to the of leaving her friends and the finishing school she is supposed to attend when she turns 15. Along the way the family will have to go though many changes from living in a dugout to borrowing water till they are able to afford a well of there own. But while the twins Bert and Dick are excited that there might be Indians Katie and Caroline are not so excited! Luckily the whole family with be able to make new friends.

Let me just say this is a wonderful book and by the time you are done you'll want read the next two books!

The second book is The Wide Horizon

It has been five years since the Pierce family moved to the Texas Panhandle.....

I'm going to have to continue this later as I'm kind of stuck right now!!
